What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Interns 2025-2026 School Year [LIC2917] position at Ogden School District (District Wide)?
Policy -
In accordance with Ogden School Board Policy and Procedure 2.9 Administrative Intern Program, internship positions in the area of administration may be made available upon the recommendation of the Superintendent. Anyone considered for an administrative intern position must meet the minimum requirements of the State of Utah. During the internship experience, the individual is expected to be actively working on completion of the administrative certification in an approved program. Assignment as an administrative intern is not a guarantee of administrative assignment in the district at the end of the internship. Administrative interns will be paid from the Licensed Salary Schedule on the 183.5-day calendar (with the option of twenty additional days during the summer with approval from the administrator). There will be no administrative benefits. The internship does not qualify toward the three-year provisionary administrator requirements.
Administrative internships are for two years only (may be extended if the candidate applies for subsequent years and is selected again).
Objectives of the Formal Internship Program -
- To provide activities and experiences which will assist in developing the leadership capabilities of the administrative intern.
- To increase the quality of administrative intern candidates for the Ogden School District administrative positions.
Candidate Qualifications -
The following qualifications are minimum requirements in order to be considered as an applicant for a formal internship position:
- A minimum of three years of teaching experience (school counseling experience qualifies).
- Demonstrated a high-quality teaching experience.
- Demonstrated a high moral and personal character.
- Evidence of acceptance in an administrative internship program
Internship Responsibilities -
During the administrative internship, the administrative intern will be expected to function as a school administrator. Such responsibilities include; attending meetings with the administrative team, active student supervision, attending/supervising extra-curricular activities, providing instructional guidance to teachers and staff, observing teachers, disciplining students when necessary, and conducting a limited number of teacher evaluations when designated by the principal. etc.
Evaluation -
Evaluation of work done by the administrative intern will be made by the supervising principal in consultation with the executive director and superintendent. Two formal evaluations will be conducted each year.
