Ogden-Weber Technical College is looking for a Marketing Specialist II to take our online presence to the next level!
In this role, you'll be the voice of the college on social media, creating engaging content that connects with students, staff, and the community. From capturing and editing eye-catching photos and videos to crafting compelling posts, you’ll help shape our digital brand and drive engagement across platforms.
You'll also play a key role in developing and implementing social media strategies, ensuring our content stays fresh, relevant, and aligned with our mission. Plus, you'll assist with digital advertising and provide event coverage to showcase the energy and excitement of campus life.

This position reports directly to the Marketing and Communications Manager.
- Execute the college’s social media strategy that aligns with the college's marketing objectives and targets prospective students, current students, and alumni.
- Work with the Marketing and Communications Manager to strategize, plan, and adjust content quickly.
- Prepare and schedule weekly posts for social media.
- Work with the college’s Marketing team to maintain a cohesive digital presence across all social media platforms and marketing materials.
- Maintain and grow the college’s social media presence, visual identity, and messaging across digital platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube), ensuring content is engaging, timely, and aligned with brand voice.
- Stay up to date with emerging social media platforms, trends, and best practices that are specific to higher education, bringing fresh ideas to the table that keep the college’s content relevant and innovative.
- Create high-quality, engaging, and visually compelling content - including copy, images, short-form, and long-form videos - for social media, digital advertising, and the college website.
- Collaborate with the Student Advisory Council and departments across the college to gather stories, news, and content ideas that amplify key messages, support institutional goals, and highlight academic achievements, student life, events, and alumni success.
- Respond to social media inquiries and engage with the college’s online community in a timely and professional manner.
- Assist instructional programs with managing their social media accounts.
- Support event coverage through live social media updates, photography, and video.
- Maintain an organized archive of photos, videos, and projects.
- The incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Two (2) years of work experience in social media content creation, marketing, or related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- High school diploma, or equivalent
- Proficiency in social media platforms and tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Instagram Reels Creator, or similar).
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator, Premiere, Express) for content creation and editing.
- Photography and videography skills.
- Strong skills in writing, editing, and storytelling for media.
- Ability to develop effective, collaborative relationships.
- Strong problem solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to organize resources and establish priorities in a fast-paced setting.
- Demonstrated customer service skills in highly interactive service environments.
- Ability to work under pressure with multiple projects, high expectations, and deadlines.
- Spanish-speaking proficiency desirable.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is a combination of sitting comfortably at a desk and physical exertion which includes walking for long distances and standing for extended time periods.
- Ability to stand, walk over rough surfaces, bend, crouch, stoop, stretch, reach, lift moderately heavy items (up to 30 lbs.) in a recurring manner and/or for long periods of time.
- Risks found in the typical office setting, which is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, e.g., safe use of office equipment, avoiding trips and falls, observing fire regulations, etc.
- This position requires the incumbent to occasionally travel to community events, which may include weekends and evenings.
- This position occasionally works in an outdoor environment with exposure to weather related heat and cold, rain, wind, and related elements.
Working Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM; Occasional evening and weekend hours are required to support special events and activities.

Salary : $44,000 - $55,000
