Description
The Student Engagement Coordinator is a full-time, nonexempt position. The position oversees multiple areas within the Office of Student Engagement. The Student Engagement Coordinator works closely with Residence Life, University Events, and other key stakeholders. The Student Engagement Coordinator is supervised by the Assistant Director of Student Engagement.
Job Responsibilities
Student Engagement Responsibilities
- Serve as the SGA staff advisor.
- Attend Weekly Meetings with senate and executive council
- Manage SGA budgetary process
- Oversee all Clubs and Organizations, including approval, re-registration, and the annual student activities fair.
- Serve as the Inter-Club Council (ICC) staff advisor.
- Including trainings, budget workshops, and leadership development
- Responsible for overseeing the TLCC Game Room, including student workers, inventory, and programmatic efforts.
- Assist in implementation of New Student Orientation including summer orientation, fall orientation, and spring orientation.
- Troubleshoot incoming calls, emails, and student questions in the Office of Student Engagement.
- Assist in the planning and execution of student involvement programming including but not limited to Welcome Week, Family Weekend, EggsAM, Oglethorpe Traditions, etc.
- Oversee the Petrel Partners program.
- Assist in developing and maintaining peer leadership programs.
- Responsible for planning and executing ATL Experience.
- Collaborate with the Theater and Music department to promote their events on campus.
- Assist in running monthly all-staff meetings for student workers.
- Meet weekly with direct supervisor.
Other
- Serve as trained Title IX hearing board member as needed.
- Participate in Faculty-Staff Judicial Board as needed.
- Assist in staffing Campus Life or Major Campus events as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in education, counseling, or similar field preferred.
- Experience with program development and execution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Previous customer service experience.
- Excellent organization and administrative skills.
- Experience with student-staff supervision, development, and training.
Conditions of Employment
- May not accept other employment on or off campus unless approved by Dean of Students.
- Be available to work nights and weekends as scheduled
- Reappointment is based on job performance and evaluation
- A standard background check by Oglethorpe University
- Must live in an on-campus apartment, with additional responsibilities to serve in an on-call rotation. Apartment and Meal Plan provided by Residence Life
