Our California offices have an exciting opportunity for an Advice & Counsel Employment Attorney to join our California team. We welcome experienced applicants at various levels, including Associate or Of Counsel, with flexibility regarding Shareholder track status, remote or in-office work, and part-time or full-time availability.

In accordance with California’s amended labor code as stated in Senate Bill 1162, the expected salary range for this California position is between $205,000 and $300,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. This position qualifies for the benefits below.

Responsibilities
This role focuses on providing advice and counsel to management-side clients on a wide range of employment law matters. Key responsibilities include:
- Providing day-to-day employment law advice to clients on workplace policies, compliance, and risk management.
- Performing legal research and drafting memoranda, and other legal documents.
- Specifically, candidates must have substantial experience in advising companies in the areas of disability accommodation, leaves of absence, wage and hour compliance, reductions in force (WARN, severance agreements), incentive pay plans, restrictive covenants, employee discipline and terminations.
- We are seeking candidates with a strong passion for employment law, excellent analytical and writing skills, who prioritize responsiveness, who have the ability to provide practical and business-oriented legal advice, and the ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor. Qualified candidates must be and remain licensed to practice law in California and in good standing in California. During employment, must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice.
- 8 years of Employment Litigation Defense experience is preferred.
- Superior written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
