Job Summary:
We are seeking a friendly, organized, and detail-oriented Front Desk Receptionist to join our dental team. As the first point of contact for patients, the receptionist plays a crucial role in creating a welcoming and professional environment. Key Responsibilities:Patient Interaction & Customer Service:
- Greet patients in a warm and professional manner, ensuring they feel welcomed and comfortable.
- Answer phone calls promptly and assist with patient inquiries, scheduling appointments, and insurance verifications.
- Provide patients with necessary paperwork and assist them in completing medical history forms.
- Manage the appointment calendar efficiently to optimize the dentist’s schedule.
- Confirm and remind patients of their appointments through phone, email, or text messages.
- Handle cancellations, reschedules, and follow-up appointments in a timely manner.
Administrative Duties:
- Verify and update patient information, insurance details, and medical records in the office system.
- Process insurance claims and assist patients with insurance-related questions.
- Collect payments, issue receipts, and maintain accurate billing records.
- Keep the reception area clean, organized, and well-stocked with necessary supplies.
- Manage incoming and outgoing mail, emails, and faxes.
Compliance & Confidentiality:
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security.
- Follow office policies, procedures, and infection control protocols.
Qualifications & Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training or certification in dental administration is a plus.
- Previous experience as a receptionist, preferably in a dental or medical office, is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proficiency in dental practice management software (such as Dentrix or Open Dental) is a plus.
- Basic understanding of dental terminology, procedures, and insurance policies.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize workload, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
