What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mental Health Consultant - Early Childhood position at Ohel Children's Home and Family Services?
Seeking dedicated mental health professional to join Ohel's Early Childhood Mental Health team. The program promotes the wellness of young children, from birth to 5 years of age, by addressing the social, emotional, cognitive, physical, and behavioral aspects of their development, preparing young children to thrive in school and beyond.
As a team member, Early Childhood Mental Health (ECMH) Consultant will conduct trainings for staff and provide mental health consultation regarding children with behavioral and/or social emotional needs at early childhood education sites in Brownsville, Brooklyn. The ECMH Consultant will develop and maintain positive working partnerships with staff and teachers, as well as families at the early childhood centers. Responsibilities will also include supporting parents, conducting parenting groups, mental health screenings on children and referring children who need intervention beyond on-site consultation for additional services.
Master’s level clinician with MSW, MHC, CAT degree or similar required; Bilingual Spanish or Haitian Creole preferred. Three years of experience working with young children and families is required. Excellent salary, training, and supervision are provided in a fast paced, growth-oriented environment. This full-time position is based in Brooklyn.
Salary: $65,000 with potential for $5,000 additional for bilingual candidate.
