Primary Responsibility:
The House Manager shall follow the Direct Support Professional Job Description in addition the roles, responsibilities and procedures listed below. The primary responsibility of the House Manager shall provide direct support to individuals with disabilities. Additionally, the House Manager shall be responsible to complete quality assurance, programmatic and administrative tasks .
Qualifications:
The House Manager must have a minimum of one year of successful DSP experience.
The House Manager shall have experience in completing administrative tasks such as the organizing, scheduling, planning, and coordinating of people, records, events, staff schedules, emergencies and related. The House Manager must understand the Assisted Living and Section 21 licensing rules, Community Settings Rule, and behavior regulations, as well as OHI policies and procedures. The House Manager must maintain a full-time work schedule within OHI’s HCBW Team to which The House Manager is assigned.
Qualities required:
The House Manager must demonstrate flexibility, versatility, experience in the field as a DSP, have a valid drivers license, demonstrate professional behavior, be an excellent communicator, demonstrate and knowingly show and support commitment to the OHI Philosophy, Mission and Vision. The House Manager must be a mentor and team player. The House Manager will commit to NOT ask anyone to do something that The House Manager would not do.
Supervisor: CSS
Hours:
Each House Manager shall be assigned to work at least 40 hours per week. Time and ½ will be paid after 40 hours of work in one week. A House Manager assigned to a home which supports two people will work 10 hours as a House Manager and 30 hours as a Direct Support Professional. A House Manager assigned to a home supporting three to four people will work up to 20 hours as a House Manager and the remainder as a Direct Support Professional. Each House Manager will participate in an on-call rotation of up to seven homes approximately every 7 weeks. The House Manager will be compensated with a stipend and any hours worked.
Responsibilities:
Tasks to be completed for the week shall be determined by the CSS and communicated to the House Manager in advance. The House Manager shall be responsible for the following duties:
1. Complete accurate and timely financial paperwork.
2. Ensure records are up to date.
3. Ensure Medication Administration Records are accurate; medication ordering, and other medical duties are completed.
4. Review pass down checklists to ensure they are completed, to include audits of the money, EBT cards and gift cards kept at the home on each day worked.
5. Conduct safety and physical plant inspections monthly.
6. Review daily documentation and follow up when needed.
7. Mentor all new DSPs to ensure the OHI Philosophy is adhered to, CMS rules, policies and procedures are followed, and people are being supported to live as independently as possible.
a. Ensure all new DSPs complete Individual Specific and Home Specific training and training records are turned in to the Training Coordinator.
8. Ensure monthly corporate vehicle checks are completed.
9. Ensure fire drills are completed and documented including required overnight drills. Ensure disaster drills are completed in compliance with the Disaster Policy.
10. Assure licensing certifications (CRMA, DSP) are in the home.
11. Ensure incident reports and daily progress notes are completed by the end of each day.
12. Ensure hours of support are covered for the home and post a weekly schedule. 13. Facilitate weekly staff meetings.
14. Provide on-call services.
15. Meet with the CSS weekly and report to the CSS tasks that have been completed, have not been completed or where further assistance is needed.
16. Ensure the coordination of medical appointments for people living in the home.
17. Attend PCP and other meetings.
19. Ensure self and DSPs check OHI email accounts at least once per work day.
20. Ensure self and staff are scheduled, notified and attend required training such as CRMA, CPR and PACT, prior to expiration.
