Job Title: Recycling Center Lead
Reports to: Logistics Coordinator
Job Summary:
Supervisory Responsibilities:
The Recycling Center Lead will be responsible for supervising Recycling Center and Tire Collection Attendants and ensuring that all community members that visit the OCSWA center have their materials prepared and sorted such that they can be accepted, communicating all pertinent information to the general public regarding recycling & proper waste disposal rules, upcoming events, and answering inquiries in such a way that upholds the OCSWA mission statement.
- Train and manage all Recycling Center Attendants (including tire collection staff)
- Communicate needs of staff to Logistics Coordinator
- Ensure that recycling staff accurately communicates current initiatives
- Provide support during recycling center hours & ensure that staff wear all safety apparel
- Patrol recycling center pre and post operation hours for debris with respect to weather issues
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Direct all community traffic through the facility
- Ensure that only accepted materials are being collected, and that they are being sorted in the correct repository
- Educate community members on what they can do with items we cannot accept (such as appliances, paints and household chemicals, large items, etc.)
- Share any upcoming events or initiatives sponsored and/or hosted by OCSWA with community members
- Maintain a clean and organized environment
- Provide support at all OCSWA events as needed
- Assist community members with the unloading of their recyclable materials
- Maintain all material rolloffs in such a way that safely maximizes allotted space and ensures integrity of the recycling program
- Maintains accurate records and detailed reports
- Work independently with minimal supervision and complete work in a timely manner
- Use sound judgment in applying knowledge and skills in all types of situations
- Other duties as directed
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Customer service experience
- Ability to lift at least 20 pounds
- Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking in
- Ability to perform duties during frequent and extended periods of outside work, subject to all weather conditions and extremes
- Ability to work with youth volunteers
- Possession of a valid driver’s license with a good driving record (preferred)
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
