Job Summary
The Dental Sterilization Technician plays a vital role in maintaining a safe environment for patients by processing and sterilizing all instruments for daily use.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning, sorting, and decontaminating equipment, instruments, and supplies for sterilization.
- Operating and maintaining decontamination equipment to ensure effective cleaning.
- Preparing and packaging decontaminated supplies for sterilization, ensuring meticulous attention to detail.
- Examining supplies to guarantee proper cleaning and sanitation before sterilization.
- Routinely inspecting sterilization equipment and reporting any issues or problems.
- Sterilizing, preparing, wrapping, and organizing equipment into instrument trays for medical procedures.
- Delivering all necessary equipment and instruments for procedures, demonstrating strong organizational skills.
- Maintaining records of sterilization procedures, items processed, equipment maintenance, and inventory levels.
- Monitoring supply levels and ordering replacements as needed.
Requirements:
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
- One year of relevant experience is preferred, with certification in Sterile Processing and Distribution being an added advantage.
