What You’ll Do At OhioMHAS
This position oversees the workers’ compensation claims (WC claims) for Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. You will directly manage all Central Office and Ohio Pharmacy Services WC claims, and work with benefit coordinators in each of six behavioral healthcare hospitals to provide policy direction and guidance regarding their WC claims.
Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.
The OhioMHAS supports a hybrid teleworking model. This position may work a hybrid schedule at the discretion of the manager or supervisor, which will require a minimum of 2 days of attendance in the office for training, meetings and other operational needs. Employees must reside within a reasonable distance to their assigned headquarters for compliance with workplace reporting requirements.
Position Qualifications
4 yrs. exp. in human resources.
OR
Completion of undergraduate core program in human resources, business or public administration; 24 mos. exp. in human resources which included 12 mos. exp. in supervisory &/or management principles & techniques.
OR
12 mos. exp. as Human Capital Management Senior Analyst, 64613.
OR
The equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.

This position oversees the workers’ compensation claims (WC claims) for Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. You will directly manage all Central Office and Ohio Pharmacy Services WC claims, and work with benefit coordinators in each of six behavioral healthcare hospitals to provide policy direction and guidance regarding their WC claims.
- Develops policies and procedures related to the Workers’ Compensation program (e.g., Workers’ Compensation Claims Processing Policy, Workers’ Compensation Certification of Claims)
- Provides direction and training for benefits coordinators in hospitals when new staff are hired, or new policies/processes are implemented.
- Conducts annual on-site management evaluations of hospital performance in Workers’ Compensation program management, claim processing, and cost containment.
- Oversees agency Occupational Injury Leave and Salary Continuation Programs.
- Manages the Ohio BWC online security access for MHAS (e.g., grant and remove access for secondary accounts).
- Partners with BWC staff, MCO, Third-Party Administrator and legal representatives for on-going management and direction of claims for the agency.
- Maintains a claims log for Central Office and Ohio Pharmacy Services for annual PERRP reporting.
- Consolidates annual reports from the six hospitals, CO, and OPS into one agency report to file with PERRP.
- Oversees activities of Safety Officers at hospitals and conduct quarterly meetings.
