Minimum Qualifications
Certificate to practice medicine issued by State Medical Board, pursuant to Section 4731.14 of Revised Code & certificate of registration issued by State Medical Board, pursuant to Section 4731.281 of Revised Code or limited registration with subsequent application for next available biennial medical state board examination (i.e., Federation Licensing Examination) to test for limited certificate per Section 4731.292 of Revised Code as it applies for foreign medical graduates.

OhioMHAS Values
- Conducts medical assessments, examinations & prescribes treatment for patients.
- Directs patient medical care & related activities; examines patients for proper diagnosis; orders &/or performs diagnostic examinations/tests; orders laboratory work; monitors & treats patient’s progress.
- Provides emergency medical care to patients (e.g., examines patients for diagnosis of acute distress, determines immediate treatment of patient injuries, illnesses, &/or emotional crisis.
- Provides medical consultation & provides management recommendations for patients; contacts external medical agencies for patient follow-up or consultation referrals; attends to emergency treatment for accidents.
- Provides medical record documentation that meet accrediting agency, federal standards & requirements for Medicare reimbursement. Serves as primary liaison with hospital medical/clinical staff & community resources on emergency diagnosis & treatment instructs other medical/clinical staff.
