The Natural Resource Technician 1 preforms general maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repairs of indoor/outdoor facilities, grounds, and equipment throughout Ohio State parks. They assist higher-level staff with semi-skilled general labor and maintenance functions (e.g., cleans and/or maintains indoor/outdoor public facilities and grounds, preforms routine landscape, maintenance of facilities, grounds, and equipment). The NRT1 applies chemicals under license of commercial applicator or limited commercial applicator, preforms minor unskilled mechanical maintenance and repairs on equipment and vehicles.
This position also offers the opportunity to serve guests directly by assisting with campground check in/out, collecting fees, performing point of sale transactions, and stocking shelves in camp store.
Qualifications: Must Have a valid drivers license.
Pre-Employment Criminal Background Check
Equipment Operations: power tools, cleaning equipment, push mowers, string trimmers, hedge trimmers, z-turn and front mount mowers, pick-up trucks, two-way radios, chain saw, motorboat, dump truck, chemical sprayer.
Duty Assignments and Schedules: May vary from day to day based on assigned park operation
