Under The Direction Of The Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP) Lieutenant, Provide Secretarial & Non-routine Administrative Support & If Assigned, Acts As Lead Worker Over Lower-level Administrative &/or Office Support Staff
- Independently formulates decisions &/or judgements involving non-legal interpretation of policies & procedures in order to resolve problems;
- Prepares correspondence &/or reports;
- Communicates decisions, directives &/or assignments to appropriate staff;
- Serves as special events liaison & assists in the planning & coordination of various events (i.e., Division-sponsored meetings, conferences, promotional ceremonies, Police Memorial, leadership awards ceremonies, & post/highway dedications, etc.);
- Assists in the purchase of goods for special events (e.g., secures bids, submits requisitions, reviews contracts, etc.);
- Assists with the submission of internal & external awards (i.e., American Association of State Troopers, Inc., International association of Chiefs of Police, the Ohio Attorney General's Office, etc.);
- Compiles & disseminates retirement credentials;
- Reviews plans & documents prepared by others;
- Provides assistance in composing correspondence & inter-office communications;
- Assists in preparation & review of pamphlets, brochures & scripts; Proofreads documentation for the division;
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Or completion of associate core coursework in secretarial science or business office applications from accredited career school or community college; 12 mos. exp. in secretarial/administrative professional field.
- Or 12 mos. exp. as Administrative Professional 2, 16872.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
