- Requires considerable knowledge of records management in order to approve temporary release of inmates (absent with leave) to custody of local courts, out of state agencies under the Interstate Agreement on Detainers and United State Marshal for federal
- Warrants
- Testifies in court regarding accuracy of inmate records and accuracy of sex offender registration requirements
- Oversee exemplification of records for use by other law enforcement agencies both in and out of state; approves pickup arrangements made by subordinate staff for detaining authorities at inmate release
- Troubleshoots and resolves unusual or special circumstances; operates LEADS computer terminal to receive BCI/FBI confidential information
- Serves as Terminal Agency Coordinator (TAC) for LEADS terminals; provides training and testing and ensures compliance with LEADS administrative release and policies
- Prepares correspondence to courts and outside agencies concerning detainers,
- inquiries and complaints
- Identifies detainers, pending indictments and outstanding warrants and advises inmates of pending detainers
- Prepares necessary documents for speedy trial in accordance with Ohio Revised
- Code
- Performs final quality check of subordinate staff’s work
- Determines sex offender registration level and supervises staff
- Completes employee performance evaluations
- Trains staff in correctional records activities and applicable statues, regulations, case law and departmental policies
- Serves as investigatory officer and hearing officer in staff disciplinary matters
- Complies data for monthly or statistical reports
- Conducts staff meetings to keep staff abreast of policy and procedural updates
- Serves on standing and ad hoc committees as directed by Assistant
- Chief or Chief.
- Attends meetings and trainings
- Or 15 mos. exp. as Correction Records Management Officer, 63231. –Or 6 mos. exp. as Correction Records Sentence Computation/Release Officer, 63232.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
