What You Will Be Doing
In the Division of Planning, Office of Statewide Planning & Research, assists in the development of transportation plans (e.g., compiles information & data pertaining to Ohio's transportation plans, policies & infrastructure; creates & maintains attribute information about transportation assets in database & Geographic Information System (GIS) software; assists with the development of federal grant applications). Utilizes computer & related software (e.g., GIS, Microsoft Office) to create project impact analyses, materials, & graphics & to research & compile information.
Assembles records & information from public involvement meetings. Assists with preparation for activities/seminars/meetings (e.g., produces copies using copier; assembles packets; processes registrations; prepares meeting rooms; coordinates the sharing of information between participants); travels to attend activities/seminars/meetings. Performs miscellaneous duties as needed.

- Assist with the development of statewide transportation plans, including research, data analysis, and reporting.
- Assist in the development applications for federal discretionary funding programs.
- Use Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to build and analyze spatial data and create maps and reports.
- Develop maps, materials and graphics that support statewide planning work products.
- Knowledge of transportation planning principles and practices.
- Education and/or experience in Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
