What you will be doing:
In the Division of Engineering, Office of CADD & Mapping Services, processes & reduces large light detection & ranging (LiDAR) data sets (e.g., mobile, aerial, & terrestrial); works with surveyors to set control targets. Works in CADD software (e.g., Bentley MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, & ProjectWise) to provide support to districts. Purges district plan vault scans & loads PDFs into Plan Vault application. Reviews historic plans for quality assurance & fixes missing location data. Reviews data to purge & load into Ohio Right of Way (OHROW) application. Assists Real Time Network (RTN) manager with Continuously Operating Reference Station (CORS) maintenance.
Operates state mapping vehicle on highways to collect mobile LiDAR & imagery data.
If operating a state-owned vehicle, must show proof of valid driver's license OR must provide own transportation.
This Position is Unclassified per Section 124.11(A)(29)
Based on job duties, this position is designated as telework eligible on a hybrid basis (i.e., working at least 3 days per week in the office); the selected applicant must complete the initial training period prior to being eligible to telework. All requests to telework are reviewed and must be approved by ODOTs Chief Human Resources Officer.
The rate of pay is based upon the student's academic status
Freshman and Sophomore students - $19.50 per hour
Junior and Senior Students - $20.00 per hour
Graduate Students - $24.00 per hour
Must be enrolled in college, university, or graduate school, and in good academic standing.

What you will be doing:
- Rotate between the CADD, Mapping, and Survey sections to perform various tasks within those disciplines (as listed in Job Duties)
- Work with a team of engineers, surveyors, I.T. staff, and GIS professionals to solve various complex technical problems.
- Provide mapping, surveying, and CADD support to District offices.
- Participate directly on projects by collecting/processing survey and mapping data.
- Write technical reports.
