DYS is statutorily mandated to confine felony offenders, ages 10-21, who have been adjudicated and committed by one of Ohio's 88 county juvenile courts. Our Guiding Principles…
The Criminal Justice Field Representative duties include, but are not limited to:
- Monitor Compliance of juvenile justice grant programs or projects, (e.g. Title II Formula Grant, Juvenile Accountability Block Grant, etc.)
- Conduct field visits to monitor compliance of grant programs or projects.
- Acts as a liaison between DYS and grant recipients in planning, monitoring and evaluating fiscal and programmatic activities.
- Provides program oversight and technical assistance to grant recipients to ensure program integrity.
- Process grant related documents (financial reports, performance reports, adjustments, closeouts, and special reports).
- Validate documents to ensure compliance with established grant procedures and written requirements.
- Maintains complete and accurate program files.
- Reviews grant applications and determines eligibility of proposed programs.
- Provides funding recommendations to grant administrator and bureau chief.
- Prepares special reports and correspondence.
- Compiles and analyzes data provided by courts and reviews commitment data.
- Or completion of undergraduate core program in criminal justice, criminology, law enforcement, political science, sociology or public/business administration; must be able to provide own transportation.
- Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
