Job Summary:
As an Assistant Controller, you will be responsible for managing the company’s accounting and financial functions while ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing. You will oversee financial reporting, budgeting, internal controls, and compliance while also handling payroll administration, tax filings, and benefits coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management & Accounting:
- Facilitate and manage all aspects of financial accounting, including general ledger maintenance, accounts payable/receivable, and month-end/year-end close processes.
- Prepare financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting to management.
Payroll & Compliance:
- Process and manage payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Handle payroll tax filings, deductions, and benefits administration, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Maintain employee payroll records, including salaries, bonuses, benefits, and deductions.
- Stay updated on labor laws, payroll tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
- Work closely with HR to manage payroll-related employee inquiries and resolve discrepancies.
Audit & Compliance:
- Coordinate and support external audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monitor and implement changes in accounting and tax laws affecting payroll and financial reporting.
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for compliance and audit purposes.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, financial management, and payroll processing.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP) and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Gusto).
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, payroll regulations, and tax compliance.
- Soft Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
