What are the responsibilities and job description for the Deputy Chief Executive position at Ohio School Boards Association?
The person selected for this role will play an integral role in providing needed resources and services to school board members and districts by advising and assisting the Chief Executive Officer and OSBA governance bodies regarding association policy and management.
Specific duties include:
- Assisting the chief executive officer in continuous monitoring and evaluation of the programs, services and needs of the association
- Managing the association in the absence of the chief executive officer
- Assisting with hiring of OSBA personnel, in partnership with HR manager, directors and the chief executive officer
- Representing the association on educational and business issues
- Coordinating the implementation of the association’s strategic plan
- Advocating on financial matters related to the association
- Reviewing and managing divisional goals and objectives to ensure consistency with the association’s strategic plan
- Ensuring mission-focused, cost-effective day-to-day operations of the association through staff supervision, fiscal management, planning and execution
- Assisting the chief executive officer in coordinating division activities and driving organizational alignment across divisions
- Advising the chief executive officer in the areas of association budgeting and personnel
- Assisting with membership recruitment, engagement, and retention including on-site visits as required
- Overseeing affiliate programs (endorsed programs and subcontracted services)
- Functioning as liaison for select OSBA committees
- Researching, developing, and supporting new products and programs
- Maintaining close communication and an effective working relationship with association leadership
- Advising and consulting with board members and administrators
- Writing and editing articles on topics related to association activities
- Speaking on issues and topics related to association activities
- Other duties as assigned
Qualified candidates will have:
- A college degree in business, management, educational leadership or related field
- A valid driver’s license
- Experience in senior leadership
- A Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential or alternative qualification(s) that the chief executive officer may find appropriate and acceptable
Salary : $139,589 - $188,856
