Job Description
Position Summary
The Transplant Compliance Specialist reports directly to the Senior Director of the Comprehensive Transplant Center (CTC) and provides oversight for the development, coordination, implementation and evaluation of compliance and patient safety initiatives within the CTC, including review of evidence based literature / benchmarks and suggested revisions / additions to the indicators for monitoring and evaluation of regulatory compliance. Assists in maintaining compliance with requirements of external agencies specifically related to transplant including the Joint Commission (JC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS), Intermacs, Ohio Solid Organ Transplant Consortium (OSOTC), End Stage Renal Disease Network (ESRD) and the Ohio Department of Health (ODH). Works closely with the Department of Quality and Operations Improvement in responding to sentinel events, maintaining regulatory readiness and databases. Works in conjunction with the Director of Transplant Services to plan and execute strategies to remedy current and anticipated compliance issues and regularly reports to CTC leadership regarding compliance performance. Also assists Administrative Director with planning, implementation and evaluation of initiatives designed to achieve CTC goals and objectives including but not limited to : strategic planning, quality improvement, fiscal planning / analysis, outreach and customer service.

Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree
Required Qualifications
Bachelors Degree in a healthcare related specialty and 5 years experience required
Masters degree desirable
Previous healthcare regulatory compliance experience strongly preferred
Strong communication, interpersonal, organizational and facilitation skills required
Strong project management experience required
Organizational skills to function independently and work closely with professionals using a team approach required
Facilitation experience required
Experience working in successful partnership with physicians required
Strong analytical skills
Ability to learn new systems software
