We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shop Assistant to join our dynamic team. Duties
- Prepare tools and materials for processing in a machine ship environment
- Assist in the operation of manual and CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring precision and quality in all fabricated parts.
- Utilize precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances of components.
- Support warehouse operations, including inventory management and organization of materials.
- Operate forklifts safely to transport materials within the shop.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues related to machinery and tooling.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
- Participate in routine maintenance of equipment, demonstrating mechanical knowledge for effective operation.
Qualifications
- Familiarity with machining processes, including CNC operation and manual milling.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Mechanical knowledge with an understanding of tooling and fabrication techniques.
- Ability to operate forklifts; certification is a plus but not required.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Basic understanding of logic controllers is advantageous but not mandatory.
