The Senior Electrical Application Engineer is responsible for providing technical expertise, solutions, and support for electrical products and systems. What You'll Do:
- Assist in designing and developing electrical products and systems tailored to customer requirements.
- Provide technical recommendations and ensure compatibility with existing systems.
- Collaborate with customers to understand their technical needs and propose suitable solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to product performance or integration.
- Manage application projects, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Coordinate between internal teams and external stakeholders to align goals.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including manuals, product specifications, and user guides.
- Provide input for technical proposals and reports.
- Conduct tests to ensure the proper functioning of electrical systems.
- Validate designs to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Assist the sales team in product demonstrations and presentations.
- Provide technical training to customers and sales personnel.
- Stay updated on industry trends, new technologies, and competitor products.
- Suggest product improvements based on market feedback.
What You'll Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 8 years of experience in electrical engineering, applications, or a related field.
- Proficiency in electrical systems (electrical circuits, NEMA motors, power systems, motor controls systems / VFD, PLC, and electrical testing equipment)
- Certifications & Standards: Familiarity with applicable codes and regulations (e.g. NEC, IEC, IEE, API, EAS, etc.).
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve complex electrical issues.
- Demonstrated experience in electrical motor design and rebuilding, including advanced winding techniques, insulation system selection, roto/ stator analysis, and performance optimization.
- Proven ability to apply rational engineering approaches to design, test, and optimize motor performance for large-scale industrial applications.
- In-depth knowledge of power systems and controls for integration into broader electric infrastructure.
- Proficiency in CAD/ CAE tools, simulation software (e.g., FEM / FEA), and diagnostic equipment for motor analysis.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams, mentor junior engineers, and coordinate effectively with Sales engineers, customer production, R&D, and quality teams.
- Experience in preparing technical documentation and presentation findings for technical and non-technical audiences.
