Job Summary : Geisinger's Heart & Vascular Institute is seeking Interventional Cardiologists to join our teams across Pennsylvania. Geisinger campuses in Danville, Wilkes Barre, and Scranton were recently certified as the first three Comprehensive Heart Attack Centers in the United States through The Joint Commission of Health and the American Heart Association.
Job Duties :
- System-wide, Geisinger's Heart and Vascular Institute has 69 Cardiologists, 12 Cardiothoracic Surgeons, 12 Vascular Surgeons, and 82 Advanced Practitioners.
- Services are provided at Geisinger Medical Center (GMC) in Danville, PA; The Richard and Marion Pearsall Heart Hospital at Geisinger Wyoming Valley (GWV) in Wilkes-Barre, PA; Geisinger – Community Medical Center (G-CMC) in Scranton, PA; Geisinger – Gray's Woods in State College, PA; as well as select community locations.
- Geisinger's Heart and Vascular Institute also offers comprehensive care for pediatric heart patients, with a team consisting of eight Cardiologists and one Cardiothoracic Surgeon at Geisinger's Janet Weis Children's Hospital (JWCH) at GMC.
- The multidisciplinary team members participate in outcomes and population-based research through the Geisinger Center for Health Research, as well as trials of new drugs, devices, and techniques through the Geisinger Center for Clinical Studies.
- The Institute serves as an educational venue for five cardiology fellows per year, advanced fourth-year cardiology fellows, an annual Cardiology Symposium, and frequent CME lectures.
