Sterile Environment Coordinator Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Sterile Environment Coordinator to join our healthcare team at OhioHealth. As a member of our surgical team, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Your responsibilities will include:- Preparing the operating room for each procedure by obtaining and preparing necessary supplies and equipment
- Maintaining a sterile field and presenting instruments to the surgical team
- Delivering instruments and supplies to the surgeon and other members of the team
- Assisting with draping and operative site exposure as needed
- Participating in post-procedure cleaning and equipment maintenance
- Contribute to unit operations by participating in effective communication, quality care, and personal growth initiatives
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Basic Life Support certification required
- Completion of an accredited surgical technologist program or equivalent military training preferred
- ST certification highly valued
- Ability to anticipate surgeon needs and communicate effectively with staff
- Strong critical thinking skills and ability to intervene safely in emergency situations
