Job Description:
The primary duties of this position include obtaining accurate, precise, and timely patient test results for the diagnosis and management of human illness. This role utilizes automation and computerization as well as manual methods. It is responsible for quality control and instrument operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The position may be involved in teaching and training, but not in a leadership capacity. It handles blood, tissue, fecal matter, sputum, urine, spinal fluid, and other body fluids. Specimens may be contaminated with infectious diseases including HIV and other blood-borne pathogens.

• Obtain accurate and precise patient test results
• Utilize automation and computerization as well as manual methods
• Perform quality control and instrument operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• May be involved in teaching and training
Requirements:
• Four year Bachelor of Science Degree
• Registered by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP)
• AMT Certification considered equivalent to ASCP
• Completion of all required course work for Bachelor's degree and completion of ASCP Certification
• Superior customer service skills
• Experience in an automated clinical laboratory
Work Environment:
This position works in a clinical laboratory setting, handling specimens and operating complex equipment. The environment is fast-paced and requires attention to detail.
