Job Description:
The CFA will provide assistance to the surgeon during an operative procedure, providing aid in exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions. This role requires strong critical thinking skills, as well as the ability to anticipate and communicate with the surgical team.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the surgeon in maintaining a safe and optimal operating environment
- Provide exposure and hemostasis using retractors, suction, and sponges
- Complete closure of fascia, subcutaneous tissue, and skin under the direction of the surgeon
- Competent in 4-6 service lines, including advanced orthopedics, soft tissue robotics, complex cardiovascular, or neurosurgery
Qualifications:
- Associate's Degree: Surgical Technology
- CST - Certified Surgical Tech - The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
- BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
