Job Description Summary
The Physician Assistant Specialty Care works in collaboration with the physician in either the inpatient or outpatient setting caring for acute and chronically ill and injured patients. Specialties include Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Geriatrics, Psychiatry, Palliative Care, Transplant, Pulmonary, Oncology, Orthopedics, etc.
Responsibilities And Duties
Works under direction and in consultation/collaboration with physician. Assesses and evaluates patients, H&Ps, orders and interprets diagnostic tests, etc. Assists in diagnostic and invasive procedures. Pre-operative and post-operative care, writes orders, discharges, etc. Promotes quality outcomes and initiatives. In the hospital the PA needs a Supervisory Physician Agreement submitted to the Medical Board of Ohio yearly review w Practice to submit to State Medical Boar d . In the office setting the PA needs a Supervisory Physician Agreement and Plan submitted to the Medical Board of Ohio Practice to submit to State Medical Boar d . Practices within applicable state laws, appropriate boards, and in accordance with his/her standard care arrangement and delineation of privileges.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree (Required)BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association, PA - Physician Assistant - National Commission on the Certification of Physician Assistants
Additional Job Description
Must have a Physician Assistant Certificate to Practice in Ohio and maintain this Certification from the State Medical Board of Ohio. Must have and maintain a current Certification from a national certifying body (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants) and maintain this Certification . Must have graduated from an accredited Physician Assistant (PA) program.
