Summary : Certified First Assistant - Monday through Thursday, Night Shift working 8pm-6am at Pickerington Methodist Hospital
The Certified First Assistant in Surgery (CFA) provides assistance to the surgeon or group of surgeons during an operative procedure as a first or second assistant providing aid in exposure, hemostasis, and other technical functions that will help the surgeon carry out a safe operation with optimal results for the patient.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in Surgical Technology or combined ST / Health related Associate degree program or an Accredited First Assistant Program
2 years as a Surg Tech in an inpatient / OP main OR
CSTF or SA-C required
Preceptor
Must demonstrate basic critical thinking skills on their introductory team
Will perform primary role independently
Will demonstrate the ability to anticipate surgeon needs and communicates these with staff
Will identify actual or potential emergency situations and intervene safely with assistance and / or supervision
Competent in 4-6 service lines, one of which must be advanced orthopedics, soft tissue robotics,complex CV or neurosurgery (cranial).
