Estimator II for Judlau Contracting, Inc. to work at our East Elmhurst, NY loc.
Responsibilities
Investigate specs, SOW drawings for own bid portion dvlp understanding of proj reqs. Perf takeoffs calcs analyze data. Conduct field visits to gather relv data on proj site conditions, verify prod rate learn new constr techniques. Adj bid mthds incorp into bidding prcs. Attend team kick off sched oversight mtngs, read team rel revs. Attend qtrly cost-to-complete mtngs incorp rel info into future bids. Negotiate re cost, qlty, delivery using company buyout procedure. Demonstrate understanding of contr docs proj risks. Make recs re mitigation price risks. Work w/ Contracts dptmnt to address contr risks. Help w/ pricing strategies. Ensure execution of Non-disclosure Agrmt before sharing proj/bid info w/ subcontractors vendors. Ensure subcontractors vendors receive stndrd T C before quote submission. Coord w/ Bus Dev, Eng’ring, Ops teams for timely bid price submission. Draft prpsl sects per RFP specs for assigned SOW. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. May undergo background checks. Little domestic travel may be involved. Salary range is $110,000 - $150,000.
Qualifications
Must have Bach in Civil Eng’ring, Construction Eng’ring, Structural Eng’ring, Architecture, or rel field and 2 yrs rel estimating exp. Also requires skills (2 yrs exp) in: performing take-offs; pricing; and communicating with subcontractors.
