Job Summary:
OHR Rents is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Parts Manager to oversee the entire parts department at a branch location. The Parts Manager will ensure efficient inventory management, timely fulfillment of customer parts orders, optimal stock levels, and support the service team by procuring necessary parts for equipment repairs. This role will serve as a centralized hub for distribution, ensuring the smooth flow of parts across branches. The role requires adherence to company policies, cost control measures, and a strong understanding of heavy equipment parts, inventory systems, and excellent customer service skills. Travel between branch locations may be necessary as part of this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and manage parts inventory levels to meet customer demand and prevent stockouts.
- Analyze usage trends to forecast future parts needs and optimize stock levels.
- Regularly review and update parts catalogs and price lists.
- Perform cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Parts Ordering and Procurement:
- Purchase parts from suppliers and manufacturers.
- Place orders with suppliers to replenish inventory, negotiating pricing and delivery terms.
- Manage relationships with vendors to ensure timely deliveries and address any issues.
- Acquire parts from other branches as needed to fulfill customer orders.
· Source parts from multiple suppliers to ensure availability and cost-effectiveness.
Customer Service:
- Process customer parts orders promptly and accurately.
- Provide technical assistance to customers regarding parts compatibility and selection.
- Resolve customer complaints related to parts orders.
Internal Support:
- Collaborate with service technicians to identify the required parts for equipment repairs.
- Coordinate parts delivery to the service department.
- Provide training to service technicians on new parts and inventory systems.
Administrative Tasks:
- Maintain detailed records of parts inventory, orders, and invoices.
- Generate reports on parts sales, inventory levels, and cost analysis.
- Adhere to company policies regarding safety, compliance, and quality standards.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
Technical Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of heavy equipment parts, their functions, and compatibility across different machinery brands.
Inventory Management:
- Proficiency in managing inventory systems, including computerized parts databases.
Customer Service:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and service technicians.
Organizational Skills:
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple orders simultaneously, and maintain accurate records.
Computer Proficiency:
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and inventory management software.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry parts over 50 lbs. as needed and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to stand for extended periods while performing job duties.
