5-Axis CNC Machinist

Ohshima Ireland LTD is currently seeking a skilled 5-Axis CNC Machinist to join our team based in our facility in Shannon, Co. Clare.

If you have a passion for precision machining and thrive in a high-tech manufacturing environment, this is the perfect opportunity for you. You will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating 5-axis CNC machines to manufacture high-precision components.

Job Description

• Set up and operate 5-axis CNC machining centres and various models of CNC milling machines with precision and attention to detail.
• Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T, and CAD drawings
• Create and edit CNC programs using CAM software
• Understand CNC nomenclature and make minor program alterations as needed.
• Select appropriate tooling and work holding for each job
• Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and precision
• Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with engineers and quality teams to optimize processes
• Ensure compliance with ISO/AS9100/Other Quality Standards
• Work to tight tolerances and ensure the quality of output by inspecting your own work.
  
  

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 3 years of experience in 5-axis CNC machining preferable
• Strong knowledge of G-code, M-code, and CNC programming
• Experience with Mazak, DMG Mori, Chiron machines desired but not essential
• Familiarity with Hypermill Software desired but not essential
• Familiarity with Heidenheim controllers desired but not essential
• Ability to inspect parts using callipers, micrometres, and CMMs
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  
  

Training will be provided in areas where skills and knowledges gaps are identified.
