Job Overview:

The Human Resources Director is responsible for developing strategies and managing HR resources across Oil-Dri Corporation of America's manufacturing and operational sites.

This role ensures effective labor planning and allocation, enhances productivity through HR-related metrics, and builds strong partnerships with Operations and Manufacturing leaders.

Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborates with business and manufacturing leaders to support teammates and labor relations activities.
  2. Develops and maintains positive relationships with union representatives and ensures compliance with the collective bargaining agreement.
  3. Analyzes and reports key operational HR metrics such as turnover, retention, labor costs, and headcount.
  4. Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and HR operational excellence.
  5. Interprets data relating to employment laws and makes thoughtful recommendations.
  6. Effectively engages in complex discussions with management and teammates at all levels.
  7. Handles teammate relation issues and guides the development of site HRBPs in putting together corrective action plans.
  8. Partners with manufacturing leadership to design/deploy HR staff to meet staffing, recruiting, engagement, and retention goals.
  9. Aligns HR manufacturing policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support human resource compliance and strategy needs.
  10. Administers human resource programs including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, performance, talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, and training.
  11. Ensures programs are designed to meet unique manufacturing needs.
  12. Monitors and ensures organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  13. Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters/MBA/JD/MD).
  • 10 years as HRBP in manufacturing environment and/or Business HRBP in manufacturing industry.
  • SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certified professional.
  • Strong operations knowledge and demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
