Job Overview:
The Human Resources Director is responsible for developing strategies and managing HR resources across Oil-Dri Corporation of America's manufacturing and operational sites.
This role ensures effective labor planning and allocation, enhances productivity through HR-related metrics, and builds strong partnerships with Operations and Manufacturing leaders.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with business and manufacturing leaders to support teammates and labor relations activities.
- Develops and maintains positive relationships with union representatives and ensures compliance with the collective bargaining agreement.
- Analyzes and reports key operational HR metrics such as turnover, retention, labor costs, and headcount.
- Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and HR operational excellence.
- Interprets data relating to employment laws and makes thoughtful recommendations.
- Effectively engages in complex discussions with management and teammates at all levels.
- Handles teammate relation issues and guides the development of site HRBPs in putting together corrective action plans.
- Partners with manufacturing leadership to design/deploy HR staff to meet staffing, recruiting, engagement, and retention goals.
- Aligns HR manufacturing policies, processes, training, initiatives, and surveys to support human resource compliance and strategy needs.
- Administers human resource programs including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, disputes, investigations, performance, talent management, productivity, recognition, morale, and training.
- Ensures programs are designed to meet unique manufacturing needs.
- Monitors and ensures organization's compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or 10 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g., Masters/MBA/JD/MD).
- 10 years as HRBP in manufacturing environment and/or Business HRBP in manufacturing industry.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certified professional.
- Strong operations knowledge and demonstrated leadership capabilities.
- Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
