Custodian/Maintenance- 2nd Shift

Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and proactive Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness within our facilities, as well as assisting with various maintenance tasks as needed. The Custodian will ensure that our premises are pristine, creating a safe and pleasant environment for employees and visitors alike. This position is required to work 2nd shift from 2:00PM-10:30PM. *A $2.00 shift premium will be added to your hourly rate for working the 2nd shift.*

Essential Responsibilities and Duties:

• This position is required to work 2nd shift from 2:00PM-10:30PM. *A $2.00 shift premium will be added to your hourly rate for working the 2nd shift.*
• Keeps building and property in clean and orderly condition.
• Performs routine maintenance activities and perform minor repairs.
• Performs heavy cleaning duties.
• Sweeps, mops, scrubs, or vacuums floors.
• Gathers and empties trash.
• Scrubs, sanitizes, and supplies restroom facilities, breakrooms, and conference rooms.
• Dusts furniture, walls, and equipment.
• Cleans windows, mirrors, and partitions with soap and other cleansers.
• Mixes cleaning solutions and chemicals in containers in preparation for cleaning, according to instructions.
• Follows procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power machinery to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
• Cleans and polishes fixtures and furniture.
• Shampoos or steam-cleans carpets and rugs.
• Manages inventory of cleaning supplies.
• Notifies manager regarding the need for repairs, supplies, or additions to building operating systems.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Management.

Working Environment and Physical Demands:

• Work performed in a shop environment.
• Work performed in an outside environment.
• Exposure to shop environment such as noise, dust, odors and fumes.
• Standing entire shift.
• Lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours
• Ability to perform repetitive motion for long periods of time

Qualifications:

Minimum:

• Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures
• Experience with using cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and cleaning solutions
• Background in handling, mixing, and using cleaning chemicals
• Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules
• Proficiency in performing minor repairs and maintenance tasks
• Communication skills
• Ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders and work at particular heights
• High school diploma or equivalent

Training Requirements:

• General Safety
• ISO 9001
• Applicable FOP’s
• Lock out tag out training

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Safety glasses
• Steel toe shoes/composite toe
• May require other PPE, such as gloves, goggles, shields, aprons, etc, while performing specific tasks
