Job Summary : The Registered Nurse (RN) assists the Director of Nursing Services in managing daily nursing operations, ensuring high-quality resident care and compliance with regulations. This role involves leadership, staff supervision, and direct patient care responsibilities in a long-term care setting. Key Responsibilities : Administrative & Compliance :
- Support the Director in overseeing nursing operations and policy compliance.
- Maintain up-to-date nursing policies and procedures.
- Participate in quality assurance programs and facility inspections.
- Assist with resident admissions, transfers, and discharges. Staff Supervision & Training :
- Ensure adequate staffing of licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants.
- Provide supervision, training, and performance evaluations for nursing staff.
- Promote a positive work environment and teamwork. Resident Care & Safety :
- Conduct daily resident rounds and ensure proper nursing care.
- Oversee medication administration and treatment plans.
- Provide direct nursing care, including IVs, specimen collection, and vital sign monitoring.
- Maintain infection control and safety protocols. Communication & Coordination :
- Collaborate with physicians, residents, families, and other departments.
- Ensure proper documentation of resident care and medical records.
- Address and resolve resident or family concerns as needed. Qualifications : Education & Experience :
- Nursing degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in long-term care preferred.
- Training in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices. Licenses & Certifications :
- Active, unencumbered RN license in the state.
- CPR certification (required).
- Experience with PointClickCare (PCC) is a plus. Skills & Abilities :
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions.
- Effective communication and organizational skills.
- Knowledge of nursing regulations and best practices. Work Environment & Physical Requirements :
- Ability to move intermittently and lift up to 25 lbs.
