Position Summary:
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides compassionate, hands-on care to residents of North Valley Hospital District's Long Term Care Facility. This role is vital in supporting residents’ daily living needs and ensuring their comfort, dignity, and well-being. Duties and Responsibilities
Resident Care:
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, feeding, and toileting.
- Provide mobility support, including transfers, ambulation, and use of assistive devices.
- Monitor and promptly report changes in residents’ physical or emotional conditions to the Charge Nurse.
Clinical Support:
- Take and record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Collect and record patient data such as weights, measures, inputs, and outputs.
- Assist with range-of-motion exercises and other therapeutic activities as directed.
- Support residents during meals, ensuring dietary needs and preferences are met.
Safety and Compliance:
- Follow all infection control procedures and safety protocols to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Assist in maintaining a sanitary and organized living area, including making beds and tidying personal spaces.
- Adhere to facility policies and procedures, including resident rights and confidentiality.
Communication and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided in residents’ records.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members.
- Provide updates during shift changes to ensure continuity of care.
Resident Advocacy and Engagement:
- Foster a positive and respectful environment, supporting residents’ emotional and social needs.
- Encourage resident participation in activities and programs to promote well-being and community involvement.
- Serve as a trusted advocate, ensuring residents feel heard and valued.
