What are the responsibilities and job description for the Early Intervention Autism Coordinator position at Oklahoma Autism Center?
We are seeking an Early Intervention Autism Program Coordinator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about working with children with autism, and possess a strong background in behavioral therapy and early childhood or special education services.
JOB DUTIES:
- Works collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based practices for serving children with autism.
- Oversees instructional programming for preschool age children with autism.
- Creates developmentally appropriate classroom activities.
- Demonstrates specific teaching strategies and techniques for providing intervention for children with autism.
- Prepares written student progress reports.
- Provides training and support for classroom instructional assistants.
- Provides family support and education.
- Effectively communicates with teachers, administrators, and families.
REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in special education, psychology, behavior analysis, or related field.
Minimum Experience: 24 month public school or must have related autism experience
Travel: Local in-state travel
Work Schedule: Normal work hours are Monday - Friday 8-5. There will be 6 evening commitments per year.
Certifications/Licenses: State and/or national certification/license in special education, psychology, behavior analysis, or related field; A minimum of certification as a registered behavior technician (RBT) is preferred or can be obtained within six months of hire date.
Knowledge/Skills:
- Experience in delivering evidence-based intervention for working with children with autism
- Knowledge of Positive Behavior Support (PBS) approach and strategies
- Knowledge of State and Federal laws and regulations governing special education, school systems, and programs
- Staff management skills
- Self-motivated, goal-oriented and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint
Salary Range: Midpoint hiring range of $45, 000 - $60, 000
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $42,000.00 - $57,000.00 per year
