Description

The primary purpose of this position is to assist Oklahoma Central Credit Union in living out our Brand Promise, "Your financial well-being is our reason for being," by delivering outstanding service to both internal and external members. In addition, the role of a Floating Member Relationship Specialist (FMRS) is to be the primary point of contact to members and potential members for their financial needs including but not limited to opening new accounts, originating loans, processing account transactions, resolving member issues and providing assistance and information regarding products and services. Availability to travel to other branch locations as needs dictate, sometimes with little or no notice. This position may travel to a different location daily and may report to the same location for a period of time.


Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

  • Deliver service to both internal and external members that is in alignment with the credit union's Service Promise and Service Standards. Possess knowledge of the credit union's products and services. Meet all established sales and service goals.
  • Cross-sells credit union products and services based on member needs. Performs financial services to include originating loans, opening new accounts, IRAs, CDs, credit cards etc.
  • Identifies and resolves member service, loan and deposit account issues.
  • Regularly communicate with members by placing outbound sales calls to advise of products and services that are beneficial to their financial well-being while further developing and deepening member relationships.
  • Handle member transactions such as deposits, withdrawals, money transfers etc.
  • Balances daily transactions and assists in cash, merchandise, vault, recycler and ATM functions. Ensures appropriate records are maintained and required reports are prepared in timely manner.
  • Contributes to branch and credit union’s goals and objectives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Performance Measurements:

  1. Meet Oklahoma Central member service standards by providing friendly, professional service to all members. Treat all members and co-workers courteously, tactfully and in a friendly way.
  2. To ensure all operations for assigned products are in compliance with governing regulations.
  3. To develop and improve knowledge and skills in the Member Service areas.
  4. To troubleshoot and resolve member and internal inquiries in a timely, friendly and accurate manner.
  5. To carry out assigned responsibilities with minimum number of errors according to established department standards.
  6. To proactively seek opportunities to cross sell products and services for the betterment of our members.

Requirements

  • Ability to remain in the role for 12 months is required.
  • Flexibility to travel to any branch throughout the day is required.
  • Ability to support all branches is required.
  • Travel will be 100% of the time, mileage reimbursement is available if auto insurance guidelines are met and maintained.

Experience & Education:

One year to three years of similar or related experience.

A high school education or GED.


Interpersonal Skills:

A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and is usually of a personal or sensitive nature. Work may involve motivating, influencing or training others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary and often requires the ability to influence and/or sell ideas or services to others.


Other Skills:

Working knowledge of regulations relating to all Credit Union deposit products and loans (Reg E, Reg CC, Reg D, Truth-in-Savings Act, Reg Z).


Comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.


Intermediate computer skills.

Must possess valid driver’s license and auto insurance per credit union minimum coverage limits.


Physical Requirements:

The physical requirements indicated below are examples of the physical aspects that this position classification must perform in carrying out essential job functions.


Persons performing service in this position classification will exert 5 to 20 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.


This type of work involves sitting a portion of the time, but will involve walking or standing for periods of time.


The employee must be able to perceive the origin and nature of sound, near and far, visually observe the work environment and have vision and/or depth perception sufficient to operate business related equipment, provide oral information, and have sufficient manual dexterity to handle and operate business related equipment and various materials and objects for extended periods of time.


Regular, punctual attendance is required.


Work Environment:

General office professional work environment consisting of desks and office equipment such as telephone, computer, ten key calculator, copying equipment, fax equipment, scanning equipment.
