In this role you will:
- Oversee on-site execution and planning for a variety of youth programming, including but not limited to multi-day and single-day youth basketball camps, community basketball clinics, youth dance camps, digital Kids Club events, and school-based activations.
- Coordinate all event logistics including staffing, scheduling, travel, registration, and equipment management.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for event venues and facilities; prepare event overviews and implement travel and transportation planning.
- Manage registration platforms and participant databases while ensuring a smooth check-in process and effective data tracking.
- Assist in the development and distribution of event materials, communications, and pre/post-event resources for participants and parents.
- Monitor and track inventory of program assets and place proactive supply orders as needed.
- Foster meaningful relationships with youth participants, families, other staff, and community partners to build a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Lead and uphold on-site safety protocols, including administering first aid when needed.
- Represent the Thunder Youth mission and values through high-character decision-making and professionalism.
- Provide feedback and insight for continuous improvement of youth programs and operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll bring to the role:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is valued, but welcome applicants with diverse education and experience.
- Detailed-oriented and committed to performing high-quality events from planning to completion.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel; comfortable adopting new digital tools and platforms.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to connect across departments and organizational levels.
- Proven ability to lead and engage with children ages 6–16 in both athletic and non-athletic settings.
Additional details:
This is full-time, non-exempt position reporting to the Manager, Youth Programs & Activations. Primary work location is the Thunder corporate office located in downtown Oklahoma City. Must have valid driver’s license and transportation as travel across Oklahoma and surrounding areas is required. Schedule includes regular office hours with occasional evening or weekend duties for special events. Physical requirements will include lifting, bending, and performing physical tasks associated with basketball and dance activities.
