Typical job functions include:
Education and Experience:Possession of a valid license to practice pharmacy in the State of Oklahoma.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of procedures followed in compounding, filling, labeling and distributing medical prescriptions, and in pharmaceutical preparations for use in the pharmacy and in the various units of the hospital; of the various drugs; pharmaceuticals and other medical supplies and solutions used in compounding and dispensing drugs; of pharmaceutical arithmetic; of medical terms and the classification of drugs according to their action, use and dosage; and of the use of weights, measures and other dispensing devises; of supervisory techniques and methods; and of the maintenance of records and inventories; skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others; in following technical oral and written instructions; and in judging a situation accurately and adopting an effective course of action.

Typical job functions include:
- Compounds, manufactures, and dispenses drugs, medications, narcotics, barbiturates and other pharmaceutical supplies requisitioned by doctors; compounds individual prescriptions as necessary; maintains prescriptions files
- Periodically visits wards to ascertain that emergency stock supplies are adequately stored and replenished supplies as necessary; checks patient charts for possible overdoses, drug interactions, side effects and proper paperwork; makes reports accordingly
- Rejects prescriptions containing dosage believed excessive; consults with physician on revision of prescriptions; may require physician's release of responsibility on overdoses
- Keeps abreast of current developments and literature; advises physicians of drugs and medications available and the use of alternate drugs
- Ascertains that drug supplies are used according to dates and removes outdated supplies from use; maintains perpetual stock inventory; requisitions supplies; checks incoming supplies for dates, dosage and other factors to insure supplies are as ordered

Special Requirements:
- Applicant must be able to pass an OSBI background
- Must possess a US driver’s license to perform job related travel if necessary
- Upon a conditional offer of employment, applicants for safety sensitive positions shall be required to submit to urinalysis to test for drugs. Appointment to a safety sensitive position shall be contingent upon a negative drug test result
- (if Required)Applicants must submit to a physical examination and shall meet the physical examination requirements of occasionally lifting/carrying 50 pounds and be able to pull a maximum force of 25 pounds
