About the Position: The Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services (ODMHSAS) is seeking a Program Manager III to join the Addiction Services Division at the Central Office in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Reporting directly to the Addiction Services Director, this high-level position plays a critical role in the division's day-to-day operations. This individual will oversee multiple programs, manage grants, and supervise team members, ensuring effective service delivery and strategic alignment. Key responsibilities include leading strategic planning, high-level decision-making, and implementation efforts. This position involves working closely with the director to address service-related challenges, as well as collaborating with state and federal agencies to ensure compliance and effective service delivery. Additionally, this individual will establish program standards, manage division budgets, and support the professional development of staff. This position requires a proactive leader with exceptional organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills to drive the success of addiction services across Oklahoma.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s ’s degree in psychology, sociology, social work, business administration or a closely related field
  • Minimum of four years of experience in the administration of related behavioral health services and/or experience in the provision of direct care services in an addiction treatment setting
  • Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience
  • Possess a thorough knowledge of best practices for substance use and co-occurring treatment and recovery
  • Preference may be given to Licensed Behavioral Health Practitioners or Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselors
  • Note: No substitution will be allowed for the required supervisory experience or education below bachelor’s degree.

Special Requirements:

  • Applicants must be willing and able to fulfill any job-related travel normally associated with this position and as such have a valid driver’s license

About us: Within this division of ODMHSAS, our employees help support community providers who are providing substance abuse and mental health services to all Oklahomans, including children, youth, and families across the state. We do this through ongoing training, support, and technical assistance for our contracted and state-operated providers, juvenile drug courts, family drug courts, and other community providers. Additionally, ODMHSAS serves as the state authority on behavioral health policy and administrative rules, as well as administering Oklahoma’s Behavioral Health Medicaid program.
