Oklahoma Prevention Needs Assessment Survey Coordinator

About the Position: The individual selected for this position will work in the Prevention Division Central Office located in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma for the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services. The incumbent for this position will be the main contact and responsible for coordinating the Oklahoma Prevention Needs Assessment (OPNA) student survey. Within this role, the responsibilities include:
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to review and revise the survey instruments, including collecting feedback from school personnel and youth.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop and/or revise survey administration documents such as protocols, consent forms, and training materials.
  • Coordinating survey logistics such as revising procedures for securing paper versions of the survey and developing and deploying online survey links.
  • Providing technical assistance to school personnel in preparation for survey administration.
  • Collecting feedback from school personnel regarding the administration process.
  • Collaborating with internal staff and contractors to make data available to school districts and the public.
  • Assisting school sites/districts on interpreting and analyzing their data as part of a needs assessment process in order to prepare them for working with the school-based prevention services team on planning and implementing school-based programs.
  • Working with a team to create fact sheets, presentations, and other data products from compiled OPNA survey data as needed.
  • Presenting data to state, tribal, and local coalitions upon request and connecting them with their local coalitions/youth groups as needed.
  • Researching other states’ school-based survey instruments, protocols, reporting methodologies, etc. in order to inform OPNA survey improvements.
  • Assisting with projecting planning and administration costs.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Requirements at this level consist of a minimum of a master’s degree and three years of data-related project management experience or a bachelor’s degree with five years of data-related project management experience.

NOTE: No substitution for bachelor’s degree.
