What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager of Building Operations position at Oklahoma Hall of Fame?
The Manager of Building Operations works closely with the Vice President of Building Operations and is responsible for the operations of building systems, including managing and executing regular maintenance in addition to planned maintenance contracts with outside vendors. This position is responsible for managing set-up, tear down, and clean-up of internal and special events at the Museum and wholesale book shipping and receiving. This position not only works closely with the Vice President of Building Operations, but also interacts with all departments to further the mission of the Oklahoma Hall of Fame | Gaylord-Pickens Museum.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing and/or executing regular routine building maintenance
- Managing and/or executing set-up, tear down, and clean-up of events in the building and grounds
- Managing and/or executing wholesale book shipping, receiving and delivery
- Interior finish repair projects around the Museum and in rotating gallery
- Managing planned maintenance contracts and invoicing
- Tracking and ordering building supplies
- Some outdoor maintenance, trimming, and pruning
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to prioritize, trouble shoot problems, and manage his/her time and that of others
- Must be available to work nights and weekend shifts (typically 2 – 4 hours) as needed
- Basic Computers skills, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel
- Must be comfortable ascending, descending, and working on ladders
- Knowledge of building systems, building control system, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety systems
- General knowledge of hand tools
- Dependable transportation
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and stand; must have visual acuity to read and draft reports, memorandums, and other printed matter, and must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The employee will work year-round in both an office environment and outdoors. The noise level in the work environment varies from quiet to loud; situations characteristic to working with school-age children are common; and travel to other sites within the metropolitan area are possible.
