What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant III Cost & Reporting Compliance position at Oklahoma State University?
Join our team as a senior compliance accountant in the cost and reporting area within the OSU Tax and Compliance department, where you’ll play a key role in the following functions :
Fringe Benefit Rate Management : Oversee the annual fringe benefit rate proposal, reconcile benefit liabilities, and support audits.
Cost & Rate Structure Analysis : Conduct annual reviews of store pricing, break-even analysis, and compliance with Cost Accounting Standards.
Tax Compliance & Reporting : Prepare working papers for OSU’s annual tax return, coordinate with external tax consultants, and manage Unrelated Business Income (UBI) reporting.
Indirect Cost (IDC) Rate Proposals : Prepare and submit IDC rate proposals for OSU and Langston University, ensuring adherence to Uniform Guidance and Cost Accounting Standards.
Financial Reporting & Special Projects : Prepare key reports such as the HERD Survey and NIH Expenditures, review working fund transfers, and contribute to strategic financial initiatives.
This position is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with strong analytical skills and experience in cost accounting, payroll processing, or financial compliance. This position has the flexibility to develop and modify processes and procedures to increase efficiency and improve effectiveness within their role.
