What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Analyst position at Oklahoma State University?
This position helps monitor & coordinate the campus-wide COI program, which includes providing support to researchers, providing oversight of COI Management Plans and Outside Employment Activity requests. Provides assistance to the COI Manager to assure compliance with all federal regulations, funding sponsor requirements and OSU policies.
The Compliance Analyst helps to ensure that the Research Compliance office meets its responsibility in the development and implementation of a training and educational program (including written materials and website content) and serve as a resource for advice and counsel concerning the interpretation of policies and their application to individual circumstances.. This position plays a vital role in assisting employees with the financial interest disclosure process and the outside employment request and approval process. and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
The incumbent will assist the COI manager in preparation and presentation of reports and information for central administration, including the Institutional Official (IO), Assistant Vice President for Research Compliance (AVPRC), and State and Federal agencies as needed. They will communicate with departments to provide noncompliance reports and escalate administration as necessary.
The incumbent must maintain a thorough working knowledge of and ability to apply federal regulations and guidance pertaining to all required federal mandates. Conflict of Interest and Research Security in research and teaching activities. He/She will assist the COI manager in development, implementing and maintaining a quality assurance compliance program including a risk-based monitoring program to measure compliance and identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency. They will assist the COI manager in coordinating the planning, development and maintenance of electronic forms and electronic administration systems and reporting tools for the program.
Normal working hours are Monday – Friday, from 8:00am – 5:00pm. However, due to deadlines and other factors, hours outside the normal working schedule may be required.
Travel is required, including travel for laboratory inspections, safety training and professional development.
Due to communication expectations of the position, the incumbent will be required to maintain cellular or other electronic communication device. The negotiated salary will include an amount deemed to be sufficient to apply toward the use of a personal cell phone.
The potential exists that the incumbent may be exposed to hazardous environments during site visits.
Requires the ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Bachelor's degree

Experience in complex account management, project management or administrative support.

Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to minimum required experience listed above, additional experience with OneAegis program, Cayuse program and COI Smart software packages.
Experience working with grants and contacts for research.
Working knowledge of relevant federal regulations (e.g. NSPM-33, CHIPS and Science Act, America COMPETES Act, Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures.
Knowledge of specific research areas relevant to the institution.
Salary : $60,000 - $80,000
