What are the responsibilities and job description for the Histology Lab Supervisor position at Oklahoma State University?
The Histology Lab Supervisor is responsible for oversight and management of daily activities in the receiving, routine trimming, and specialized trimming workstations of the histology section at the Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (OADDL). This position will assist the histology lab manager in the training and supervision, of three senior laboratory technicians and 1-3 temporary or student workers.
The Lab Supervisor will work closely with the histology lab manager supervising the receiving and accessioning of commercial cases, the routine trimming of biopsy and necropsy specimens, complex grossing of large organs, and band saw trimming of hard tissues (including limbs, mandibles, digits, etc.). Duties will also include, ensuring quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) in the receiving and trimming workstations, assisting in staff training and completing research cases.
