Job Summary :
Position Summary The Langston University Police Department is seeking applications for a full-time Dispatcher position. This role is critical to the effective operations of the department, involving the simultaneous management of multi-channel radio communication, multi-line telephones, computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems, and other related technologies. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of the university community by providing consistent and reliable communication support. Key Responsibilities :
Receive, coordinate, and disseminate critical information from various sources.
Maintain radio contact with mobile and field units to monitor response, progress, and provide necessary support.
Operate and manage emergency call systems within the department's communications center.
Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation as required.
Adhere to proper radio and telephone etiquette while handling sensitive situations.
Ensure strict confidentiality regarding all parties involved, including students, staff, faculty, and external constituents.

Must be at least 21 years old with any felony convictions.
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Strong multitasking and communication skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Proficiency in current office technologies and the ability to quickly assess, relay, and record information accurately.
Strong organizational skills, work ethic, and dependability.
Flexibility to work varied schedules and attend mandatory training and classes.
Preferred Skills :
Experience with computer-aided dispatch systems and other communication tools.
Familiarity with emergency response protocols and procedures.
