OSU Agriculture, Financial Coordinator / Sr. Financial Coordinator

Position Summary: To ensure consistency in financial management of university, fee related sources, State and Federal funds received by the Ferguson College of Agriculture (FCOA). Under the general direction of Division of Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources (DASNR) Assistant Vice-President and Senior Financial Officer, will assist in the development and oversight of financial reporting, budget processes and activities including verifying the integrity and accuracy of financial operations, safeguarding organizational assets, and developing efficient business processes. Performs advanced accounting, budgeting and fiscal analysis to support the leadership team in the FCOA, specifically the Associate Dean and the staff and personnel that support the Associate Dean’s office. Collaboration and cooperation are expected of all staff in the FCOA and in OSU Agriculture which is comprised of the FCOA and two state agencies: the Oklahoma Agricultural Experiment Station (Ag Research) and the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service (Ag Extension).

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s in Business, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Agribusiness, Agriculture Economics, or related field with 5 years of experience in accounting, finance, business administration or related field.

Job Competencies:

• Excellent mathematical skills, analytical ability, and knowledge of accounting and finance principles.
• Must be reliable and highly organized.
• Proficient in Excel, Microsoft Word
• Ability and experience in supervising professional budget and accounting staff.
• Ability to work in stressful situations with only general guidelines to assist in decision making. * * * Strong commitment to organizational change through such techniques as business process re-engineering.
• Experience with highly automated financial management systems and the processes required to make these systems function and be able to offer solutions for improvements to these systems. * Ability to communicate complex accounting information to top level administrators for decision making purposes.
• Ability to take an advocacy position on behalf of the campus with inquiring constituencies.
• Strong commitment to affirmative action.
• GAAP, financial management, advanced spreadsheet expertise, systems analysis, and business administration.
• Ability to work collaboratively with administration, faculty, as well as other fiscal personnel.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Agribusiness, Ag Econ or related field

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or other related certification
