POSITION: TheSchoolofEducationalFoundations,LeadershipandAviation(SEFLA)intheCollegeof EducationandHumanSciencesatOklahomaStateUniversityisseekingone-year (12-month) Postdoctoral Research Fellow. This position will manage a partnership among OSU researchers, Project ECHO®, and K-12 school districts in Oklahoma implementing Khanmigo (Khan Academy’s AI-powered teaching assistant). Further, this position will support the research agendas of both the Brock Chair of Innovative Educational Leadership and the John A. and Donnie Brock Professor of Educational Leadership and Policy. We expect the individual filling this position to focus on project management, data collection and analysis, and research development toward publication.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The main responsibilities of this position will be to collaborate, design, and disseminate research on Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education as well as other educational leadership research projects currently ongoing in the Educational Leadership & Policy Studies program. In addition, this position will support and lead the partnership program of Oklahoma school districts implementing Khanmigo. This will include but not be limited to collecting and analyzing data, organizing and managing bi-monthly professional development for AI implementation through the ECHO® platform, organizing and facilitating quarterly on-site professional development with Khan Academy representatives in Tulsa or OKC (travel to other partner districts may also be required) . Other responsibilities will be to develop conference proposals, manuscripts, and grant proposals related to topics mentioned above.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
PhD inEducational Leadership or a closely related field;
Record of excellence in scholarship ;
Expertise in theories, research techniques, and methods associated with the field of Educational Leadership & Policy;
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated written and verbal communication skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Expertise in using qualitative and quasi-experimental research methods, particularly those suited for analyzing large datasets;
Experience in research applying Artificial Intelligence (AI) in education with a track record of publications or evidence of strong peer-reviewed publication potential;
Evidence of research collaborations involving practitioners or other relevant educational stakeholders and evidence of an education policy-oriented research agenda with an interest in working both collaboratively as well as independently;
Interest in developing and conducting research-to-policy-to-practice research with and for education policymakers.

GENERAL INFORMATION: The Educational Leadership and Policy program offers three Graduate Certificates, two master’s degrees, a Doctor of Education, and a Ph.D. degree in Educational Leadership and Policy/School Administration. Workforce and Adult Education courses are embedded in the program. We emphasize the application of psychological theories of human motivation, learning, and cognition to applied educational and organizational contexts. Applicants applying these theories and educational contexts to society will be looked upon favorably. Our faculty work together closely and have opportunities to serve in various leadership roles.
