The High Energy Physics group in the Department of Physics at Oklahoma State University invites applications for a full-time postdoctoral fellow position in theoretical particle physics starting fall 2025. The initial appointment will be for one year and is renewable annually for up to three years, contingent upon performance and availability of funds. The successful candidate will carry out theoretical research in high energy physics that leads to peer-reviewed publications in reputable scientific journals and will have an important role to play in maintaining the research excellence of the High Energy group at OSU. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to: 1) work closely and collaboratively with the advisor(s), other principal investigators, and team members; (2) comply with the state and federal research integrity and compliance requirements in data collection and analyses; (3) provide guidance and mentorship to graduate students on their projects; (4) assist in grant proposals writing; (5) conduct regular literature reviews in the field; (6) maintain research equipment as needed and ensure compliance with safety and ethical standards; (7) participate and assist in organizing workshops, seminars, and other training opportunities to expand research skills and professional networks.
The research interests of the high energy theorists at OSU (K. Babu, V. Brdar, and D. Gonçalves) involve collider physics, dark matter, neutrino phenomenology and other Beyond the Standard Model physics. There is also opportunity to interact with the high energy experimental group at OSU, who are involved in the ATLAS experiment at CERN.
Minimum qualifications are an earned PhD in theoretical High Energy Physics with a research publication record in peer-reviewed journals. Those who anticipate receiving their PhD degree by or before August 2025 are encouraged to apply.
