Job Summary:
Stock Clerks are positions within OSU Facilities Management’s office of Procurement Services. The warehouse is a central and busy location, and we are a team that spends a lot of time together, near each other, acting with a sense of urgency, and we love to serve our customers. Generally speaking, Stock Clerks serve at the Facilities Management warehouse “sales” counter to release and return items to various personnel “customers” (e.g., carpenters, painters, electricians, plumbers, building maintenance crew members).
Additional duties include the following: – Performing urgent procurement and delivery function needs – Maintaining warehouse inventory – Storing inventory in designated areas (e.g., specific aisle and shelf) – Receiving returned materials – Counting inventory with a keen eye and attention to detail – Maintaining daily and monthly records – Maintaining the interior of some company vehicles – As needed, may sometimes assist at the loading dock or with University Mailing Services functions.
Must use appropriate personal protective equipment as required (hard hat, vest, gloves, safety glasses, etc.). These items are provided and are not for personal use. Must work safely and promote a safe environment. Lifting requirements will exceed 50 pounds regularly. Come work with us!

Required Qualifications:
Stock Clerk I: No experience required; have before hire— and maintain after hire— a valid driver’s license for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned. Must obtain a fork lift license within 1 year of hire.
Stock Clerk II: Must meet Stock Clerk I requirements but have two years of experience in a warehouse setting. Experience with material handling equipment (i.e. pallet jack, forklift, etc.), and knowledge of trade tools and measurements.
Stock Clerk III: Must meet Stock Clerk I and II requirements but have three years of experience in a warehouse setting while working independently and autonomously in a decision-making role.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability and willingness to follow Leadership’s and more senior stock clerks’ direction.
Not just an ability but an eagerness to appropriately take initiative within the bounds of one’s responsibilities.
A collaborative willingness and eagerness to work with and alongside a diverse team of people.
Proficiency in math; familiar with units of measure (e.g., lumber and pipe), and basic computer skills.
Safety consciousness.
Physical ability to occasionally lift in excess of 50 pounds.
Technical knowledge of— or a willingness to learn— trades related products (e.g. carpentry, mechanical, electrical parts and materials).
Ability to handle a fast-paced environment.
Ability to multi-task and stay organized.
Ability to schedule the most efficient route based on customer needs.
Timeliness in completing work assignments.
Ability to become proficient in the use of “AiM” Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software and the use of mobile technology.
Preferred Qualifications:
High school/GED
Five years of experience in warehousing, supply chain and inventory.
Knowledge of trades materials and parts.
Lean Six Sigma Knowledge.
Microsoft Office experience (proficiency with Excel and Word).
Completed OK Corral Training and P.Card training.
